{{indexmenu_n>70}} ====== User login ====== The actions listed in this section are related to logging into a mailbox (to retrieve messages, for example). **Any choice listed here that does not appear in the selection box can be typed in manually.** The table below provides a brief overview of each action, listing the action, an example, and a brief description. More detailed descriptions are provided in the sections that follow. ^Action^Example(s)^Description^ |//DID Login//|''DID Login''|Performs user login based on the caller ID.| |//GuestLogin//|''GuestLogin''|Invokes the GuestLogin IVR application.| |//Login//|''Login''|Queries the caller for the mailbox number, then performs user login for the mailbox entered (if it is a valid mailbox).| ===== DID Login ===== The DID Login option attempts to use the caller ID to determine the mailbox the caller wishes to log into. If the caller ID is not available or is not a valid mailbox, then the system falls back to the //Login// procedure instead (querying the caller for the mailbox to log into). The caller will be prompted to enter the password for the given mailbox, unless the class of service is configured to allow login with no password. If the password is correct (or was not required), the caller will be presented with the mailbox's subscriber menu, otherwise he or she will be told that it did not match and will be given another chance. **After three incorrect entries, the call will be disconnected.** ===== GuestLogin ===== The GuestLogin option invokes a special IVR application that was designed for hospitality customers whose PBX systems do not provide caller ID. In such a case, the 7.00 cannot know what extension is calling, so a direct login to the mailbox for a guest room extension is not possible. When a caller selects this option, the system prompts him or her to enter the room number; if the number entered is a valid guest mailbox, the system will tell the caller it will call him or her back. It then disconnects the call and schedules an immediate //login request// notification for that room. When the notification is triggered, it calls the room and logs the called party into the guest mailbox for that room. **For this option to work, all guest mailboxes must have a notification template assigned to them that uses the event trigger //Login Request// and the technique //GuestLoginCallback//.** ===== Login ===== The Login option is for logging into any mailbox regardless of what the current mailbox may be. When invoked, the system will ask the caller for the mailbox to log into. If the mailbox is valid, the caller will be prompted for the password, unless the class of service is configured to allow login with no password. If the password is correct (or was not required), the caller will be presented with the mailbox's subscriber menu, otherwise he or she will be told that it did not match and will be given another chance. **After three incorrect entries, the call will be disconnected.**
