This page allows you to review, add and remove pattern translations for the given profile. There are no translations by default.
These translations are applied to outbound numbers only. To translate incoming caller or called party numbers, use the Call Routing feature.
The lower half of the page is a table listing the current translations (by default it is empty).
Field | Description |
---|---|
Length | The total number of digits in the dial pattern to be translated (excluding dashes). Maximum length is 20. |
Pattern | The first few digits that must match exactly for the translation to be performed. |
Replacement | The digits that are to be substituted for those specified in the Pattern field. |
The upper half of the page is used to add or remove translations. The three fields are the same as those listed in the table of existing translations:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Length | Enter the total number of digits in the dial pattern to be translated (excluding dashes). Maximum length is 20. Example: To match all number for 1-914-XXX-XXXX, set the length to 11 . |
Pattern | Enter the initial digits that must match exactly for the translation to be performed. Enter all numbers without dashes. Example: To match all numbers for 1-914-XXX-XXXX, enter the digits 1914 . |
Replacement | Enter the digits that are to be substituted for those specified in the Pattern field. Example: To translate numbers 1-914-XXX-XXXX to 1-XXX-XXX, enter the digit 1 . |
To test your translation before adding it to the table, enter a matching number in the Number field. If it matches both the Length and Pattern values you entered, the resulting translation will be automatically displayed in the Output field. If nothing is displayed there, then the number you entered did not match.
If you want to reset the fields and start over, click the Reset button.
To add the translation to the table, click Add.
This only adds the translation to the table in the dialog; it will only be saved to the configuration database when you click OK.
To delete a translation, click on it in the table to select it, then click Delete.
To discard all changes you have made to the translation table, both additions and deletions, click Undo. This will revert the table to the state it was in when you first opened the dialog (that is, it will display the translations that currently exist in the database, if any).
Any changes made will only be saved when you click OK.
