This page allows you to manage what types of user accounts can access each of the administration applications. User accounts are managed on the Users page.
Caution should be taken when forcing user account access to System Configuration and Mailbox Administration. If the password is lost for System Configuration the only solution is to clear ALL user accounts and passwords.
There are currently three applications that use these security settings:
Application | Description |
---|---|
System Configuration | This application. |
Mailbox Administration | Desktop application for managing subscriber mailboxes, various templates used by mailboxes, and system reports. |
Web Administration | Web-based administration. If this is blocked only the desktop application Mailbox Administration can be used. |
For each application, you can configure which user types can access the application: Anonymous, User, Manager and Administrator. Check the boxes for the user type(s) who should have access and uncheck the boxes for those who should be denied access. Any changes will be saved when you click OK.
Note: Clicking the check box in a column header will auto-select (or deselect) all checkboxes in that column.
The Anonymous type differs from the other three in that if anonymous access is permitted then a user does not need a user account or password to access the given application. In fact, in the cases of Mailbox Administration and System Configuration, if anonymous access is allowed then you will not be prompted for login credentials at all.
