Directory access
The actions listed in this section will invoke a spell-by-name directory from which the caller can find the person to transfer to.
Any choice listed here that does not appear in the selection box can be typed in manually.
The table below provides a brief overview of each action, listing the action, an example, and a brief description. More detailed descriptions are provided in the sections that follow.

Directory
The Directory action invokes the spell-by-name directory, prompting the caller to enter the first three letters of the first or last name of the person he or she is trying to reach.
Depending on how the directory is configured in the COS template, it will provide the caller with any matching entries in one form or another and instruct him or her on how to transfer to the desired extension.
Guest Directory
The Guest Directory action invokes the guest spell-by-name directory.
Unlike the standard directory, it will always prompt for the first three letters of the last name; then, if it finds more than one match, it will also prompt for the first three letters of the first name. It will only transfer to a room extension if it finds one and only one match to the digits entered by the caller. In all other cases, it will transfer the call to the operator instead.
At no time is the room number or the guest name provided to the caller.
