IP Office 7

SIP Drops on Weekends

It is believed that Avaya has a bug which causes huntgroups containing SIP extensions to forget they are members of the group. This could be a configuration or hardware issue on our in-house switch but beware it could happen on a customer and you may need to add it. Because it is specific to a huntgroup it cannot be part of the default integration and it just might only be a problem on our system.

You all know what happens when the IP Office cannot rout calls, you get overflow. When this occurs the in-house is not down, does not need to be restarted, you only need to call each extension directly and the IP Office will instantly remember the extension exists and the huntgroup will start working.

The solution is to create an idle port strobe which logs the channels into the hunt group. In the example below the huntgroup is 1000. Our in-house performs this every 3600 seconds.

Short code Code: *93*N* Feature: HuntGroup Enable Telehone Number: N

Build dial string *93*1000* Dial On Hook

This seems to have been resolved in later versions of IP Office.
