VeMail

The VeMail tab provides settings to control how voice and fax attachments are configured prior to being attached to the VeMail message.

There is just one setting in this section: WAV file format. It specifies the type of WAV file format to convert the voice file into before attaching it to the email message. Which formats are available may vary, particularly for systems purchased as software kits and installed on customer-provided hardware. It all depends on the version of Windows and which audio codecs have been installed (audio codecs are the software used by Windows to translate and play audio files).

The 7.00 will list any installed codec for any of the following supported audio formats. It will not list any unsupported codecs, nor will it list any codec that is not present on the system. If you wish to use a format (such as MP3) and it is not listed on your system, you will need to find a 3rd party vendor who can sell you the desired codec.

  • MS-ADPCM
  • Microsoft CCITT G.711
  • Microsoft IMA ADPCM

This section contains general VeMail settings.

SettingDescription
Enable use of return receiptIf enabled, VeMail messages are marked to request return receipt and when you read the email in your email client, a return receipt is automatically sent back to the 7.00, prompting the system to delete the original message for you.

Depending on the configuration of your email client, you may be prompted to allow the return receipt or it may occur silently in the background.
Send email as HTMLIf enabled, the VeMail messages will be formatted using HTML. If disabled, they are formatted using ASCII text only. The only real difference from the user perspective is that HTML allows for fancier formatting.

If your email client is configured to block HTML email, it should convert the email to plain text rather than reject it.
