DHCP ARP Method

Ensure you're following the 'Direct to Phone' Requirements.

  • This MWI method maps a single MAC address to the individual mailbox.
    • This method will not work with SIP endpoint Gateways
    • This method will not work with mailboxes that use several physical phones.
  • If any on-site changes are made to the physical phone resulting in a different MAC address for the extension. This will required changes in the DuVoice configuration, accordingly.
  • Uses default DHCP configuration.
    • Requires the phone's MAC address to be exported to a list.
      • We'll refer to this as <phone-mac> in the DuVoice configuration below.
  1. Log in to the desktop of the DuVoice server.
  2. Open the 'DV2000 Manager' application.
  3. Click on the 'system' drop down option.
  4. Click on the 'service' option.
    1. The service window will open.
  5. Click on the 'Servers' tab.
  6. In the 'Name' column find 'IPPHONECFG' and double click on it.
    1. This will open the IPPHONECFG window.
  7. For this window configure the following:
    1. Auto start: enabled
    2. Auto restart: enabled
    3. Arguments: -arp 10
      1. This will allow the ARP query to perform every 10 minutes (the minimum value).
    4. Hit the 'ok' button to save your changes.
  8. Back on the 'Service' menu, right click on 'IPPHONECFG'.
    1. Click 'Start'.

For this to work, we need to enter the MAC address of the phone within the mailbox's configuration.

CSV Import

  1. Add a 'MAC' column to the CSV file.
    1. Then map the <phone-mac> in the column, matching to each mailbox.
